About This Station

2MNO Monaro FM is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit community radio station serving the Monaro and Snowy Mountains region of New South Wales, Australia. Broadcasting since 1996 from studios in Cooma and Nimmitabel, it operates 24/7 with around fifteen volunteer presenters and forty members, offering a broad mix of music genres and local current affairs, plus national and international coverage via the web. Initially focused on country and easy-listening music, its programming has since expanded to cover a wide musical spectrum, with all decisions made democratically and no paid positions within the organisation. A registered charity, the station is committed to responsible, accurate information and pleasing music, and also augments its schedule with relayed satellite programs.
