About This Station

2MNO Monaro FM is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit community radio station serving the Monaro and Snowy Mountains region of New South Wales, Australia. Broadcasting since 1996 from studios in Cooma and Nimmitabel, it operates 24/7 with fifteen presenters offering a broad spectrum of music genres alongside local current affairs, plus national and international coverage via the web. The station is a registered charity with around forty members, and all presenters and committee members are unpaid volunteers making decisions democratically. Initially focused on country and easy-listening music, its programming has expanded over the years, and it also relays satellite programs to augment local broadcasts. English is the primary language of its content, and the station emphasises responsible, correct information and pleasing musical genres for its listeners.
