About This Station

**KBCU-FM 88.1** is a 24-hour, non-commercial, not-for-profit radio station broadcasting from the campus of Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas. Rooted in a college tradition dating back to the 1930s, the station is entirely operated and staffed by more than three dozen Bethel students, offering them academic credit and hands-on broadcast experience. Its programming spans a diverse mix of genres—including rock, hip-hop, alternative, Latin, and contemporary Christian—alongside sports talk shows, and it reaches listeners across Newton and much of Harvey County. Affiliated with the Pacifica Radio Network, KBCU serves as a launching pad for students pursuing careers in mass media, with many alumni going on to successful broadcasting roles.
