**Freeform Portland** (KFFP-LP 90.3 FM & KFFD-LP 98.3 FM) is an independent, non-commercial, 100% volunteer-run community radio station serving the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area since 2016. Broadcasting a freeform, eclectic mix that spans cumbia, jazz, death metal, and disco, the station champions music you won’t hear on commercial radio. Its programming is crafted by a community of over 125 volunteers—including musicians, activists, historians, and first-time DJs—who bring diverse, original shows to the airwaves. The station is listener-supported, relies on donations to cover rent and equipment, and recently upgraded its 98.3 FM transmitter for a stronger signal in central Portland. Beyond the radio dial, Freeform Portland hosts local events, offers an online stream, and engages listeners through a newsletter and Discord community.
