Radio Hoyer 2 is a Dutch-language radio station broadcasting from Curacao, focusing on a mix of top 40, pop, and various music genres. It is the second station of the historic Radio Hoyer network, which was founded in 1954 by the musician and tennis champion Horacio Hoyer. Radio Hoyer 2 specifically launched in 1959 as a Dutch-speaking counterpart to the Papiamentu-language Radio Hoyer 1. The station is notable for being part of the first commercial radio station in the world to transmit entirely on solar-powered FM energy, a system designed in the 1980s. It continues the founder's legacy of promoting local culture and providing a platform for contemporary music and talk shows for the island.
