CGM UK DemoScene
About This Station
**CGM UKScene Radio** is a long-running internet radio station dedicated to **demoscene music**, streaming 8-bit and 16-bit chiptune, tracked, module and in-game music from platforms including the Amiga, Commodore 64, Atari, Sinclair Spectrum and later PCs. Established in the UK in the year 2000, the station is self-funded and maintained by 'Solorize' of LESS Music Productions, and features legendary 1980s in-game composers such as Rob Hubbard, Ben Daglish, Martin Galway and Tim Follin, alongside a vast collection of demoscene productions and music competitions from the early 1990s to today. The station explains the technical background of the music, distinguishing between direct sound-chip coding (like the C64's SID chip) and tracker software (ProTracker, FastTracker II, Impulse Tracker, etc.), with common formats including MOD, S3M, XM and IT. Broadcast in English, it offers multiple MP3 and AAC+ stream qualities, including a 256kbps MP3 stream, and also runs a sister station, CGM UKScene Radio (Pi), a 100% Raspberry Pi-powered Icecast stream.
