About This Station

Grampian Hospital Radio is a volunteer-run broadcasting service for the hospitals of NHS Grampian in Aberdeen, including Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and Roxburghe House. On air since 1981, it broadcasts from Westburn Cottage to bedside units in the hospitals, and reaches wider audiences online, via its app and on smart speakers. The station aims to provide a personal service to patients, helping to cheer them up and offer a distraction from illness, with a schedule that includes request shows and local features such as the Pittodrie P.S Podcast. It is a member of the Hospital Broadcasting Association and is a proud recipient of The King's Award for Voluntary Service.
