About This Station

**Ocean Youth Radio** is a youth-led, award-winning radio station based in Torbay, UK, run by the community interest company Sound Communities CIC. Dedicated to empowering young people aged 11-16 through radio and creative media, it provides a platform for young voices, offering work experience, youth employment, and opportunities to develop confidence, speaking skills, and social connections. The station broadcasts live from schools and community spaces across the Bay, with Saturday studio sessions open to young people to create and present their own shows on topics they love. Beyond live radio, it produces *300 Seconds*, an award-winning mental health podcast made by and for young people, and engages with the community at events such as the Devon County Show, Paignton Carnival, and the English Riviera Airshow. The station’s key aims include connecting young people across Torbay, improving their health and well-being, developing their creativity and aspirations, and fostering intergenerational understanding.
