About This Station
Radio Teemaneng Stereo is a community radio station based in the Kimberley/Frances Baard region of South Africa, serving all communities regardless of race, religion, creed, or colour. Launched in 1995 as a pilot project of the Training Education Research and Resource Centre, it broadcasts in four languages—Setswana, IsiXhosa, Afrikaans, and English—to reflect the diversity and views of its listeners. The station was ranked 23rd in the National Rams of October 2012 and has won several accolades, including Best Provincial Performer 2004/5 and the Northern Cape Sports Award for Media Institute of the Year 2006. Its programming is community-focused, with content produced through interaction between the radio and the community, and its station manager also serves as the NCRF Northern Cape Chairperson.
